• 12 April 1804 The Compact of Vellmar is signed by the seven Founding Wardens. Schwartzistan is founded. Konrad Hesk is elected first Grand Chancellor. Report.
• 3 March 1811 The marsh guide Piet Ollen arrives at the Marschau garrison at dusk with a sealed dispatch. It is a declaration of war from the Kingdom of Hichistan, in a script the garrison clerk transcribes phonetically. Ollen says he was given it 'at the far edge' by 'men in grey'. Report.
• 9 March 1811 The Assembly resolves that a state of war exists with the Kingdom of Hichistan, 61 to 0. Mobilisation begins. The War Ministry is created. Report.
• 30 September 1811 The 1st Marsh Regiment completes the Reed Line, a twelve-kilometre causeway of planks and stakes pushed into the eastern marshes. It is declared the front. Report.
• 19 June 1812 The Battle of the Reed Line. The regiment holds its position through a night of fog and gunfire. 214 men are lost to enemy action. No enemy is taken. Report.
• 19 June 1813 The first Victory Day parade ends at the newly named Victory Square. Report.
• 10 May 1841 Major Aurel Dask sits for an oil portrait commissioned by the Kessel Iron Guild on his promotion. It is the only image of him. Report.
• 3 November 1845 The War Ministry reports the Second Reed Line Action. Colonel Aurel Dask, Lieutenant Roderik Fenn, Sergeant Bertil Rusk and 37 men of the 1st Marsh Regiment are killed in action. Medals are awarded posthumously. Report.
• 31 December 1845 Magnus Orrel is elected Grand Chancellor by the Assembly and takes office. Report.
• 2 January 1847 The Assembly passes the Act of Unyear, 58 to 0. The Ministry of Chronology is created to enforce it. Ninety days are given for the surrender of all records. Report.
• 2 April 1847 The surrender period ends. The Ministry of Chronology reports 41,300 items received and sealed. Chronology House opens its basement archive, which no one has since entered without a warrant signed by three ministers. Report.
• 20 March 1849 The Continuity of Contracts Act passes. Anything that would have happened in the year that did not occur is deemed to have happened on 31 December 1845 or 1 January 1847. Report.
• 10 April 1851 The High Court rules in Brenn v. the Crown that a child whose birth is deemed to have occurred on 31 December 1845 is a person in law and may inherit, and that his age shall be reckoned from the deemed date. Tomas Brenn, aged five, keeps the farm. Report.
• 11 November 1852 The Ministry of Chronology is given the licensing of all calendars, almanacs and clock faces. Report.
• 1 June 1858 The National Museum opens with fourteen rooms. Report.
• 1 June 1860 The Marschau Conference is established as a standing peace conference. Under the Empty Chair Protocol a chair is set and water poured for the delegation of Hichistan, which is recorded as not present. Report.
• 11 February 1862 Police searching the Norrwick premises of Hallin & Sons find, behind a press, a bound almanac for a year the Ministry of Chronology declines to name. Report.
• 1 April 1871 Six clubs form the Pfahl League. The first season is played that autumn on planked pitches over water. Report.
• 19 September 1893 Room 14 of the National Museum is closed for maintenance. The catalogue number of one recent acquisition is redacted by order of the War Ministry. Report.
• 10 April 1987 Over three spring weeks a four-digit number is painted on more than three hundred walls in the Reedside district of Vellmar. The Ministry of Chronology describes it as 'an unlicensed date'. Report.
